NEWS AND UPDATES - Week of March 20, 2017

We are officially one week into the fourth quarter.  Students have worked extremely hard this year and summer is just around the corner.  However, before we finish the year, state testing is upon us for all third through eighth graders.  Principals and teachers will be sending information regarding the specific window of testing for each grade level. It is important that students have a good breakfast, are well rested and are in attendance every day. Testing will begin at each of the schools on the following dates:

  • Columbia - April 3 - May 12
  • Discovery - April 19-May 11
  • Endeavour - April 24-May 5
  • Quailwood - April 18-May 12
  • FJH - April 24-May 12  (8th gr. science May 15-17)

Friday, March 10, the Fruitvale School District held kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Registration at each of the elementary campuses. If you missed this date, please register your child as soon as possible, we need to plan for our teaching staff. Click on this link for further information. Watch for news coming soon about ONE BOOK, ONE DISTRICT to be celebrated in May at all the schools.  Everyone will be reading one special book and great activities will be planned around this.  More information coming soon, but save $6.00 for your copy of this special book.  

Summer School is back again this year.  Student will be able to register for a 2 week block or for all 4 weeks.  The theme for the first block (June 5-16) is Math, Science and Technology and for the second block (June 19-30) is the Arts!  Registration will be coming home right after Spring vacation, the week of April 17.
