Dr. Mary Westendorf, District Superintendent

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Fruitvale School District. In Fruitvale, there is a tradition of excellence in Kern County that is second to none. The four elementary schools in Fruitvale: (Columbia Elementary, Discovery Elementary, Endeavour Elementary and Quailwood Elementary) and Fruitvale Jr. High have established outstanding academic programs that focus on the needs and successes of each individual student. They are committed to a guaranteed and viable curriculum for every student and seek to provide a variety of curricular and extra-curricular activities to engage and challenge all learners. Fruitvale students consistently perform at the top in County API scores and are regular winners in Oral Language Festivals, Math Field Day, History Field Day, and Spelling Bees.

Fruitvale has a tremendously supportive Board of Trustees and a community that values education. The staff at Fruitvale is experienced and dedicated to their students and they work collaboratively to continue as life long learners.

Schools in the Fruitvale School District have been recognized 19 times as California Distinguished Schools and three times as National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. The Fruitvale School District is a dynamic place for students to learn and grow and we extend a welcome to each and everyone of of our families.
