Board Tenure: Elected to the Board of Trustees in 1981, he proudly served our district for 45 years.

Back-to-School Tradition: The start of the academic year was Richard’s favorite time. He made a point to address teachers at annual back-to-school meetings to offer his sincere gratitude and encouragement.

Campus Presence: Richard made a personal effort each year to visit every single classroom on every Fruitvale campus to greet students and show his support for our educators.
Richard considered the Fruitvale community his extended family. His kindness, leadership, and enduring commitment to public education will be missed dearly, but his impact will continue to guide our district for years to come.
