The Introductory Spanish class provides students with a foundation in beginning Spanish. Topics include greetings, numbers, days of the week, the alphabet, colors, family vocabulary, clothing, expressing likes, dislikes, and describing ourselves and other people. More than 500 million people speak Spanish worldwide. With that, the class will also focus on the geography of the Spanish-speaking countries. Our goal is to have fun while acquiring active communication skills in Spanish. We will accomplish our objectives through games, drawing, singing, pair and group activities, readings, video, dramatic skits, projects, mnemonic devices, and role-play in Spanish. The class also integrates the popular language app Duolingo. Students will complete weekly goals and compete against each with class challenges. Introductory Spanish is a one semester course.
 
 Advanced Spanish covers the first year of high school Spanish. Students in this course will have completed Introductory Spanish in the 7th grade. Instruction emphasizes the study of elementary grammar presented within the framework of a game-inspired curriculum. The class will also develop your geographic knowledge and cultural understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. Our class goals include acquiring active communication skills as well as listening, reading, and writing abilities in Spanish. We will accomplish our objectives through drawing, singing, pair and group activities, video, internet, presentations, projects, mnemonic devices, reader’s theater scripts, and role-play. The class also integrates the popular language app Duolingo. Students will complete weekly goals and compete against each with class challenges.
