The Fruitvale middle school Robotics class participated in the VEX Robotics competition California Region 3 Middle School held March 5, 2023 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, California. All three teams will be progressing the World Competition, April 27-29, 2023! Congratulations and good luck to all of our teams! Go Wildcats!

1047 the time now several Kern County robotics teams won the state championships in San Luis Obispo earlier this month the fact they all came from one School Fruitvale middle school that's what we find Mister reporter Tony Salazar Tony good morning good morning and how are you it's been a blast prestigious whole robotics team so miss this out and you have a lot to talk about here I may we have your amazing robotic students right behind us and they can really early this morning but really I mean this is history in the making I mean you guys won a state championship and what not I mean how did that go in flow that happened earlier this month oh my goodness it was like a movie so we make it to the final bracket and it's a single elimination I have both teams on either end of the bracket and I thought okay if they make it all the way the championship they're going to me in the championship no way that's going to happen if they win they win and they win to make it to the semifinal match and then saw three teams competed in that final match it was Unreal. We're talking like two fruit it's a total of 3 teams heading to the World Championships were talking about two teams from Fruitvale that went up against each other basically that was history but it's so it's off of History to make for you guys if you guys head off to Dallas Texas in the coming months right we are just so excited. Going to have to ask you as a teacher from your perspective how does make you feel that your very own student I mean this is you know this is all about teamwork and collaborating together I mean what's going through your mind right now I am just so proud I mean it's young men have worked together and they talk they collaborate and they trouble when there's a problem they don't run to me they leave work with each other to discuss and figure out how to solve that problem and they have over and over again after Peyton still Pains been here really early in the morning done with the other students good morning Peyton so tell me what do we have going on here this is your rope hero. You're basically robot right angles which is a miniature active of this game and it get the most points for the tournament you know this is something that I probably would never be able to build in my lifetime but I want to ask you how long did it take you and your team to put something like this together and takes months we started off basic robot like couldn't do any of this forecast for the two months we got more and more to get it to where it is today and I feel really honored and blessed that I can have this opportunity that we can do this as most children in the schools can create robots he's crazy tournaments in Texas so excited for you and your team because that's all part of Fruitvale Junior High that can be heading to the World Championships so I know this is a chance when really people and all over the country I was hearing that folks from China I mean really all over the world are coming to this what are you most looking forward to come April I'm so I'm looking forward to seeing all these from cultures and he's determined how vac has United all these cultures all these countries to expand the children's Minds all across the world and blue benefiting chickens everywhere find me someone to bring him to the shelter really quick so I really quick in like 5 10 seconds you know people are at home are watching and they're asking how can I get involved how can I help them out so it really how can the community help out with this out there any companies anywhere that would like to donate and little  speakers are buttons or anything from their company to represent Bakersfield that's what I really want to do here because it is amazing that we are headed to the world event I would like to have like little giveaways from our hometown right and again they will be heading to the World Championships April is going to be a whole lot of fun and of course you're at Eyewitness News and hopefully they will take over there in your hi I'm Tony Salazar for Eyewitness News Stacy back to you Tony and congratulations to all the students of their approved we are honored and if you guys can support them please do that's great
