California Physical Fitness Testing

Each year all 5th and 7th grade students are required to take a Physical Fitness Test that assesses aerobic capacity, abdominal strength and endurance, upper body strength and flexibility, overall flexibility, body composition, and trunk extensor and flexibility.

A parent/guardian guide to the Physical Fitness Test with specific information about each area assessed is found on this California Department of Education link Physical Fitness Testing

Additionally, the aerobic capacity test has more specific information for parents/guardians as well as a link to help calculate specific fitness goals for their child: PACER Look-Up and Goal Setting Table

If you have any questions regarding the Physical Fitness Test, please contact your school's PE teacher or Jasmine Bassilious, Director of Curriculum and Instruction at 589-3830 extension 209.
